Overview

As Corporate Functional Manager, Machining, you will lead enterprise-wide machining and sawing strategy and standards to drive safety, quality, throughput, and growth. You'll partner with Plant Managers to implement standardized processes, develop technical talent, and pursue automation and capital initiatives. This high-visibility role shapes the future of machining across multiple facilities and customer-focused manufacturing. You will influence performance by building scalable, safe, and efficient operations with measurable impact.

Responsibilities
  • Lead enterprise machining and sawing strategy, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and capacity across machining operations
  • Develop machining leadership, technical talent, and best practices
  • Plan and execute capital projects, equipment upgrades, and automation programs
  • Provide servant leadership across multiple facilities to drive performance
  • Standardize machining processes, CNC programming, and operating procedures
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers and cross-functional teams to improve throughput and utilization
  • Coach and mentor to develop leaders, succession plans, and skills
  • Act as enterprise SME for machining, sawing, CNC programming, and related technologies
  • Drive continuous improvement and technology advancements across the organization
Key requirements
  • 10+ years in machining, CNC manufacturing, metalworking, or related fields
  • Experience leading machining operations or technical teams
  • Strong experience in heavy manufacturing, forged products, steel, metals, aerospace, defense, or industrial environments
  • Solid knowledge of CNC machining, sawing, programming concepts, tooling, blueprint reading, and GD&T
  • Proven track record in operational improvement and organizational change
  • Strong business acumen with cross-facility influence
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to pass pre-employment drug screen
