Overview Design Engineer joins cross-functional teams to drive new product development and lifecycle improvements. You will validate designs, release components for production, and coordinate with supply chain to integrate vendor data. The role focuses on safe, cost-efficient, and manufacturable solutions within design standards, contributing to the product's evolution and compliance. You will shape fabrication plans, work instructions, and documentation, while collaborating across functions to meet schedules and budgets. Responsibilities- Design and validate mechanical systems and components using sound engineering principles
- Release production-ready components and drawings within time and cost constraints
- Conceptualize designs, plans, and procedures for fabrication and assembly
- Coordinate with procurement to review vendor samples and drawings for integration
- Investigate design/assembly improvements to enhance safety, reduce warranty costs, and simplify products
- Adhere to design parameters and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering on production work instructions, tooling, and manufacturability
- Follow standard work and complete required documentation
- Maintain safe work practices and compliance with safety policies
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or relevant engineering field
- At least four years of combined education and experience in design of mechanical systems
- Proficiency with professional design standards and drafting practices
- Working knowledge of mechanical engineering and design
- Proficient in Siemens NX or similar CAD systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiar with ERP systems
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Able to collaborate effectively across cross-functional groups and all levels of the company
