Civil Site Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead Florida stormwater design and land development efforts within a growing Florida practice. You will collaborate with project teams to develop layouts, drainage, and permitting strategies that meet regulatory requirements. You'll model stormwater scenarios, prepare calculations and reports, and support construction administration. This position offers growth into greater technical responsibility and interaction with clients and reviewing agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, and drainage designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Lead Florida stormwater management design, including analysis, modeling, and preparation of calculations and reports
  • Model stormwater site conditions using StormWise/ICPR4 to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Compile and interpret local land development codes, zoning requirements, and permitting criteria
  • Prepare and support permit applications for local, FDEP, and water management district approvals and respond to review comments
  • Support construction administration activities, including review of submittals and RFIs, and coordinate with the design team during construction
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, and reviewing agencies throughout the design and permitting process
Key requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or similar)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and StormWise
  • Florida-based site/civil engineering experience with emphasis on stormwater design, land development, and permitting
  • Familiarity with Florida permitting agencies and processes
  • Construction management/oversight experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT with clear path to licensure considered
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
