Overview

In this role you serve as embedded legal counsel to Lowe's technology organization, guiding product and digital initiatives from ideation to retirement. You translate complex regulatory concepts into actionable guidance for cross-functional teams, enabling rapid, compliant product development and scalable governance. You partner with product, engineering, and analytics teams to manage legal risk across AI, privacy, and digital transformation efforts. You will influence enterprise strategy by providing pragmatic, business-focused counsel that supports innovation and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Act as embedded product counsel for Lowe's technology products, platforms, and digital experiences across the product lifecycle
  • Advise on legal and operational risks related to product development, technology implementation, and enterprise transformation
  • Operationalize regulatory and legal requirements into practical guidance for business and technical teams
  • Contribute to strategic planning, roadmaps, and governance to identify risks and enable scalable solutions
  • Develop scalable governance frameworks and requirements to support responsible innovation
  • Counsel on digital experiences, consent designs, accessibility, software commercialization, and cloud initiatives
  • Provide pragmatic risk-based advice and enable efficient decision-making
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Security, Privacy, HR, and other functions to support initiatives and issue resolution
  • Lead or support trainings and resources to improve consistency of legal requirements across the organization
  • Handle matters independently with escalation for high-risk or sensitive issues
Key requirements
  • 4+ years practicing law in a law firm or in-house
  • Experience in AI governance/compliance, privacy, technology product counseling, technology transactions, eCommerce, or digital IP related to digital products
  • In-house counsel experience preferred in retail, digital, or technology companies
  • Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical operational guidance
  • Strong business judgment and risk-based advisory capability
  • Proven ability to build trusted cross-functional relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
