Overview In this role you lead electrical field engineering activities on a major Bechtel project, ensuring construction aligns with design. You'll coordinate with engineering to resolve constructability issues and oversee electrical systems, from high voltage to DCS, while managing materials, cost, and field deliverables. You'll work closely with project teams to enable safe, on-schedule execution and build critical infrastructure. Responsibilities- Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues for electrical systems, lighting, high voltage, grounding, and DCS.
- Establish and maintain electrical design/field engineering communication with the Project Engineer and define deliverables and configuration management.
- Perform quantity take-offs, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for the electrical discipline.
- Specify criteria for construction of temporary facilities.
- Direct preparation of field material requisitions and approvals for panels, motors, and switchgear.
- Review material receiving and warehousing to ensure correct electrical materials are delivered.
- Coordinate interfaces for electrical data exchange to support construction automation and project controls.
- Develop and manage the electrical construction quality program.
- Prepare cost estimates for electrical construction activities and coordinate cost reports and forecasts.
- Coordinate with Field Supervision and Subcontractors to plan and support construction schedules.
- Recommend electrical procedures to ensure operations meet design specifications.
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in construction and technical inspection of electrical/design (installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting, high voltage, grounding, DCS, cable pulling).
- Commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and Zero Accident safety program.
- Computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
- Familiarity with industry quality standards and Bechtel BSAPs (TeamsWorks and SetRoute).
- Basic knowledge of PTRs, RFIs, FCDs, NCRs, and interface with start-up teams and project offices.
- Intermediate understanding of production management including scheduling; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; good communication skills.
