Responsibilities- Plan, design, and deliver automation and control system solutions for municipal and industrial clients
- Lead instrumentation and control system design for water, wastewater, recycled water, and industrial projects
- Develop control strategies, instrumentation layouts, network architectures, and SCADA designs
- Prepare and review P&IDs, instrumentation specifications, I/O lists, and system architecture diagrams
- Collaborate with electrical, process, mechanical, and civil engineers to deliver integrated solutions
- Support planning studies, condition assessments, and analyses related to automation and controls
- Develop project cost estimates and assist with scope development
- Coordinate with clients, system integrators, contractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout delivery
- Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting
- Perform QA/QC reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team
Key requirements- 5-8 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering, preferably in water/wastewater or industrial infrastructure
- Experience designing instrumentation and control systems for pumps, treatment facilities, or similar projects
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, control strategies, and instrumentation systems
- Experience developing and reviewing P&IDs and control system documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering field
- Professional Engineering license strongly preferred; ability to obtain licensure within six months considered
