Battery Engineer/Scientist (Ph.D.)

In this role, you contribute as part of Exponent's Materials Science and Electrochemistry team in Menlo Park to tackle battery and materials challenges for clients. You design and run experiments, interpret data, and present findings to non-technical audiences, helping advance real-world battery technologies. You work with a multidisciplinary group to translate research into actionable insights and reports. • Applying your battery R&D experience to solve real-world electrochemistry and materials problems for clients
• Designing and running experiments
• Interpreting and presenting data

• Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
• Specialized knowledge of electrochemistry, lithium-ion batteries, and/or other battery technology
• Hands-on material and battery characterization experience
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work in project teams with a desire to contribute and potential for leadership
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without immigration sponsorship
