Executive Director, Medical and Occupational Health

Overview

In this role you lead a comprehensive occupational health program for GE Appliances, guiding a team of healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for about 15,000 employees. You will partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align health initiatives with company goals, drive data-informed decisions, and advance patient care quality. A core focus is reducing injuries, improving wellbeing, and optimizing health-related spend and compliance. You'll shape strategy, empower staff, and deliver measurable health outcomes that support business continuity and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an occupational health strategy aligned with organizational goals
  • Manage budget, staffing, and resource allocation for health programs
  • Build relationships with HR, Legal, Operations and external partners
  • Collect, analyze, and report occupational health data to guide decisions
  • Oversee pre-employment screenings, health surveillance, return-to-work, disability management
  • Lead clinical oversight of physicians, nurses, and specialists to ensure quality care
  • Drive continuous improvement across clinical and wellbeing initiatives
  • Lead EMR implementation for secure documentation and OSHA records
Key requirements
  • 15+ years of clinical and healthcare business experience
  • Expertise in health and leave benefits, healthcare policy, regulatory compliance, and employee wellbeing programs
  • Strong understanding of industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and environmental health
  • Proven leadership with ability to motivate healthcare teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across organizational levels
  • Data analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Strategic and analytical thinking with problem-solving approach
  • Ability to obtain medical licensure in KY and other states (preferred)
  • Board certification in Occupational Medicine (ABOM) and related advanced degrees (preferred)
