Overview In this role you will architect, build, and steward Finance & Accounting data, analytics, and reporting capabilities to enable faster, more accurate decision-making. You'll partner with Finance and IT leaders and cross-functional teams to design scalable data pipelines, governance, and dashboards. You will mentor engineers, raise engineering standards, and drive automation across Finance data products. This is a collaborative, impact-oriented opportunity at a leading international law firm.

Responsibilities- Understand the firm's data landscape and how Finance data flows across systems
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL processes with the Enterprise Data team
- Model and govern Finance data to support analytics, forecasting, and reporting
- Develop dashboards and analytical apps in Power BI and other platforms
- Establish data modelling, DAX, governance, and deployment standards
- Ensure data security and compliance with firm policies
- Lead requirements discovery with senior stakeholders and translate to technical specs
- Mentor engineers, perform hands-on development, and drive quality and consistency
- Collaborate to build enterprise data strategy, metadata, lineage, and reference data
- Evaluate new financial technology and lead proofs of concept and vendor engagements
- Provide advanced support for Financial Technology & Strategy solutions
- Develop design documentation and data dictionaries for governance and dissemination
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance with monitoring and alerting
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of progressive data engineering or related experience
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders to elicit requirements and drive adoption
- Experience with enterprise data warehouses and data management
- Strong SQL and Python skills; query optimization and data modeling
- Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, and Power Platform (Power BI)
- Knowledge of DataBricks, PySpark, Fabric Lakehouse, Azure environments
- Experience with law firm practice management systems (preferred)
- Excellent communication and ability to influence across levels
