Responsibilities- Represent employers and insurers in workers' compensation matters
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
- Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as required
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Manage caseloads efficiently while adhering to firm procedures and deadlines
- Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and clients to develop case strategy
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues
Key requirements- JD or LLM from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar in good standing
- 1-7 years of substantive workers' compensation defense experience
- Experience representing employers and insurers in workers' compensation proceedings
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to identify and analyze complex legal issues and develop effective solutions
- Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills
- Tech-savvy and comfortable working in a paperless practice environment
