Principal Contracts Manager (Signal Tech)

Overview

In this role, you will serve as a key contracts contributor supporting Mercury's Signal Technology Business Unit. You'll blend independent leadership with teamwork to manage government and prime contracts, navigate complex regulatory requirements, and mitigate risk. You will interface with government officials and internal teams to protect the company's interests while ensuring timely, compliant contract execution. This position offers a chance to shape contracting strategy in a high-volume, high-stakes environment with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities
  • Review complex solicitations and craft or approve contractual documents for compliance with customer specs, T&Cs, FAR/DFARS, and company policy
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements (including master agreements) to protect the company's interests
  • Advise management and program teams on contractual rights, obligations, IP protections, conflicts of interest, and risk mitigation
  • Maintain contract deadlines and log contractual data; input data into required databases
  • Analyze and track contract compliance in collaboration with other functions
  • Externally interface with government contracting officials and prime contractors; internally coordinate with Legal, Program Management, Finance, and others
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Business, Management, or related field
  • 6+ years of direct contract administration/management experience with government defense or prime customers
  • Experience with USG, prime and commercial contracts
  • Experience with defense contract types (CR, CPFF, CPIF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ) and all contracting phases
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, especially Part 12 and Part 15
  • Ability to obtain US Government Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required
  • Travel less than 10%
