Staff Project Controls Specialist - Food & Beverage (Kansas City)

Overview

In this role, you will lead project controls to keep project deliverables on budget and schedule, coordinating with the internal PM team. You will set up projects in the ERP planning tools, develop WBS, and generate scheduling and cost reports across multiple projects. You'll manage planning, scheduling, cost control, and cash flows, while handling change orders and interfacing with accounting. You will support audits, earned value management, and IPPM sessions to drive accurate reporting and proactive decision-making. This is a hands-on role for someone who shapes project execution through robust controls and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project controls processes with the PM team to meet budget and schedule targets
  • Set up projects in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software
  • Develop and maintain scheduling, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts for multiple projects
  • Create WBS and ensure logical scheduling with resource loading
  • Approve purchase orders/subcontracts coding and document changes to cost reports
  • Interface with Project Management and Accounting to review costs and support audits
  • Review change orders (upstream and downstream) and develop cash flow reports
  • Develop various levels of schedules and run what-if scenarios
  • Maintain earned value management system and progress measurement
  • Conduct field audits and quality checks on project controls deliverables
  • Support IPPM and project forensic analysis
  • Comply with policies and standards
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree in engineering, construction management or related field
  • 3 years of direct project controls experience (or applicable experience)
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification (ability to obtain)
