Overview In this role you will own the CAD and PLM/PDM platform landscape, shaping how engineering data flows from design to manufacturing. You will drive multi-year roadmaps, align with product and supply chain strategy, and partner cross-functionally to convert business needs into scalable engineering systems. You'll lead modernization, cloud adoption, and MBE initiatives, balancing strategic direction with hands-on configuration and technical decision-making. This is a mission to make engineering more productive and scalable by delivering a robust digital thread.
Responsibilities- Own the architecture, configuration, performance, and roadmap of CAD and PDM/PLM platforms; ensure clean integration with CAD, PLM, ERP, and manufacturing systems
- Establish and enforce CAD standards, data structures, naming, BOM governance, release/change management; drive global consistency
- Protect the digital thread by ensuring end-to-end data flow from design through service and maintain data quality, versioning, and traceability
- Improve productivity through automation, performance tuning, and escalation support for complex issues
- Lead PLM modernization and cloud/CAD SaaS adoption; advance MBEs and AI-enabled design/reuse and validation
- Manage external vendors/partners for CAD/PLM support, upgrades, and implementations; oversee SLAs and cost optimization
- Partner with engineering leadership, IT, supply chain, and manufacturing to translate business needs into system capabilities
- Translate business needs into system capabilities and maintainables to support long-term roadmaps and measurable outcomes
Key requirements- 8-12+ years in engineering systems, CAD administration, or PLM roles
- Hands-on depth with major platforms (PTC Windchill/Creo, Siemens Teamcenter/NX, Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE/SolidWorks PDM)
- Proven track record of system implementations or transformations
- Strong stakeholder management across Engineering, IT, and Operations
- Data-driven mindset with focus on measurable outcomes
- Strategic and hands-on leadership; ability to set direction and execute
