Lead Professional, Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will guide complex electrical infrastructure projects from concept through construction. You'll work with cross-functional teams to design substations, power distribution and protection systems, ensuring code compliance, safety, and quality. You will analyze data, develop plans, and communicate findings to clients and regulators, enabling successful project delivery and ongoing improvements in public and private sector work.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level electrical infrastructure design guidance for multi-site projects
  • Coordinate and approve electrical plans for smaller, less complex projects ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Apply advanced engineering methods across project phases (concept to operation)
  • Develop and review layouts, wiring diagrams, grounding, and protection schemes
  • Create procurement-ready designs, performance calculations, and cost estimates
  • Lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, track hours, and supervise QA/QC
  • Prepare technical reports, data visualizations, and presentations for stakeholders
  • Prepare and implement site HASPs and coordinate with regulators, clients, and subcontractors
  • Stay current with electrical engineering practices and regulatory requirements
  • Engage in business development opportunities and proposal preparation
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in power generation/transmission/distribution
  • Professional Engineer license
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure design and electrical construction laws and codes
  • Experience with design/build processes and permitting
  • Ability to plan inspections and investigations and interpret complex regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse audiences
  • Self-led with attention to detail and ability to lead junior team members
  • Proficiency with CADD, Aspen, CAPE, ETAP, WIN IGS, Inventor, AutoCADD electrical
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and travel as needed
