Overview As Manager in Baker Tilly's Development Advisory practice, you lead engagements that help Tribal Nations and utilities advance energy, infrastructure, and economic development. You'll guide cross-functional teams, shape strategic plans, and support access to federal funding to drive community priorities. This role blends advisory leadership with hands-on project management across energy projects, broadband, water, and resilience initiatives. You'll work closely with Tribal leadership to turn strategy into executable programs and sustainable outcomes. Responsibilities- Engagement manager and trusted advisor for Tribal governments and infrastructure organizations
- Lead strategic planning on energy sovereignty, infrastructure investment, and organizational transformation
- Manage multiple client engagements with budgets, schedules, staffing, risk, and quality control
- Facilitate executive workshops and strategic planning with Tribal leadership
- Advise on renewable energy opportunities including solar, wind, storage, microgrids, and utility-scale generation
- Support Tribal utility development, governance, and energy sovereignty initiatives
- Assist clients with infrastructure planning across energy, broadband, transport, water, wastewater, and resilience
- Conduct feasibility analyses, financial models, and business cases for investments
- Guide federal funding opportunities and lead grant strategy and implementation planning
- Lead proposal development and pursuit activities for new clients
- Mentor consultants and foster collaboration and excellence
- Assess organizational structures and governance models to identify improvements
Key requirements- 5 years of professional experience
- 4-year degree
- 3+ years leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with Tribal Nations, Tribal enterprises, utilities, or infrastructure organizations
- Experience in energy, renewables, infrastructure planning, or federal funding
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and executive communication
- Ability to develop and review financial models, business cases, and capital investment analyses
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of IIJA, IRA, and DOE Tribal Energy programs
