Overview As a Civil Project Engineer at Stantec, you will lead civil design tasks and hydrology modeling on diverse Community Development projects across the western US, reporting to a Project Manager. You'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to produce construction documents and coordinate with clients, agencies, and vendors. The role emphasizes technical leadership, quality control, and shaping project outcomes from feasibility through closeout. Responsibilities- Serve as technical lead for civil design documents (grading, drainage, utilities, streets) and hydrology/hydraulic modeling
- Prepare and revise project documentation from feasibility to construction closeout
- Coordinate with geomatics to assemble accurate base data
- Develop concept design alternatives and 3D models of civil systems
- Lead coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare construction quantity estimates and basic cost analyses
- Assist in scope, budget, staffing, and schedule management
- Lead preparation and coordination of project specifications and construction documents
- Participate in constructability reviews and maintain QA/QC on projects
- Process project documentation for approvals and permits
- Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects
Key requirements- Experience with land development projects in the local markets
- Knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards
- Understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of civil systems, means and methods
- Effective communication with clients and reviewing agencies
- Excellent time-management and budgeting abilities
- Ability to review colleagues' work for accuracy
