Overview

As an Account Executive Officer in Ocean Marine, you drive profitability, growth, and retention for a defined book of business. You apply deep Ocean Marine knowledge to underwrite and negotiate complex accounts, balancing risk and reward. You collaborate across internal and external partners to craft sales plans and seize cross-selling opportunities. You travel to meet agents and brokers, expanding our footprint in markets aligned with our risk appetite. You help shape region and enterprise strategy through consultative selling and mentoring others.

Responsibilities
  • Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business
  • Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability
  • Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Foster relationships with external partners by meeting agents/brokers to market and sell Travelers products
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills
  • Develop and execute agency sales plans, partner with Managing Director on regional plans
  • May assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives
  • Travel to meetings as required
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Six to eight years of relevant Ocean Marine underwriting experience
  • Deep knowledge of Ocean Marine products, regulatory environment, and local insurance market
  • Strong critical thinking to identify and address underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • CPCU designation
  • Four years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience
