Project Manager - Civil/Structural - Rail and Transit Projects

Overview

In this role, you will lead major rail and transit engineering projects across the Northeast, shaping design and construction direction for stations, facilities, tracks, and bridges. You'll drive project performance within schedules and budgets while guiding multidisciplinary teams. You'll participate in proposals and capture efforts, setting standards and ensuring compliance with specs. This highly visible leadership position blends technical direction with strategic program management to deliver cutting-edge transit solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee managerial and technical direction of major engineering projects and strategic pursuits in the Rail Transit Sector, serving as Project Manager or Design Manager
  • Develop discipline staffing budgets, staffing assignment schedules, and staff forecasting reports
  • Monitor quality and progress to meet project production requirements within schedule and budget
  • Provide technical direction to engineering teams, set priorities and schedules
  • Review and approve top-level designs and documentation for compliance to specifications
  • Establish standards and procedures manuals for major projects and recommend improvements
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural Engineering (or related field)
  • 8-10+ years of rail/transit experience including design management and capture management
  • NY/NJ and/or Boston area transit client experience preferred (e.g., MTA, MBTA, PANYNJ, NJ Transit)
  • Rail transit facilities and stations design experience preferred
  • Design-Build project experience as Design Manager, Deputy Design Manager or Discipline Lead preferred
  • PE License with active membership in a professional engineering society
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
