Overview

In this role you will lead the development of Electrical Center products for automotive applications, shaping robust electrical-mechanical assemblies. You'll work with cross-functional teams to meet cost, performance, and manufacturing requirements, applying design standards and analysis tools. You'll drive design reviews, validation plans, and documentation, delivering on schedule. Responsibilities
  • Develop EC products and assemblies per customer requirements and Aptiv standards
  • Lead the EC product development process with timely design reviews
  • Create robust designs using Mold Flow, FEA, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack analysis
  • Apply GD&T to components and assemblies
  • Prepare Validation Plans, DFMEAs, test reports, and DFM materials
  • Coordinate with Project Management to develop and manage timing plans for mechanical components
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Electrical, Systems Engineering, and Testing to meet requirements
  • Generate cost estimates, change orders, RFQs, and EC design documentation
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers
  • Support customer design reviews, validation activities, and vehicle/bench builds
Key requirements
  • Design experience for electrical-mechanical automotive assemblies (ECs, fuse boxes, PDCs, PDBs)
  • Knowledge of automotive electrical system products (centers, harnesses, connection systems, terminals)
  • Understanding of materials and manufacturing methods for stamped metal, molded plastic, PCBs
  • Ability to interpret DFMEA, mechanical and thermal FEA, Moldflow, and tolerance analyses
  • Strong time management and prioritization
  • Assertive, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient English (writing and speaking)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Siemens NX
