Testing Engineering Specialist

Overview

In this role you will lead testing efforts within the healthcare payer domain, shaping test strategy and execution. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to validate requirements, design test cases, and drive automated testing initiatives. You'll ensure quality across online and batch processing for claims systems, contributing to process improvements and project success. This position offers impact through robust testing and SME guidance in a large-scale environment.

Responsibilities
  • Create and assist in test strategy and planning
  • Gather requirements and clarify software needs
  • Follow master/project test plans
  • Design test cases and scenarios from requirements
  • Prepare test data and configure test beds
  • Develop and update test automation scripts
  • Perform manual and automated test execution and validation
  • Document results and manage defects
  • Manage testing process and reporting
  • Provide SME guidance to testers and contribute to process improvements
  • Update test cases based on defects discovered
Key requirements
  • 5-7 years in software testing
  • Bachelor degree in business or technical discipline
  • Experience with healthcare payer domain, claims processing and benefit configuration
  • Knowledge of medical claims systems (e.g., Amisys Advance, Facets, LRSP, Xcelys)
  • Experience with payer tools (e.g., JCAPS, MACESS, AppWorx, Health Rules, Vistar, SIEBEL, PIVOTAL)
  • Hands-on claims testing for online and batch processing
  • Experience in business process modeling/workflow testing
  • Experience in test automation scripting
  • Expertise in service interfaces and ETL testing
  • SQL querying proficiency
  • Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, DB2, or Sybase)
  • Ability to collaborate with senior developers, testers, and architects
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum methodologies
  • Participation in all SDLC phases for large-scale applications
  • Well-versed in healthcare payer terminology
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills
  • MS Office and HP ALM knowledge
  • Prior experience in claims testing and benefits configuration testing
