Overview In this Senior Manufacturing Engineer role, you will drive process improvements for high-mix, low-volume electronics in a defense/aerospace context. You'll lead initiatives to enhance safety, quality, yield, throughput, and cost, while supporting NPI and Design for Manufacturability. You'll troubleshoot complex assemblies, develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize performance. Your work will shape manufacturing excellence and reliability for mission-critical electronics, with opportunities to mentor teammates and influence strategic outcomes.
Responsibilities- Lead manufacturing process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, yield, throughput, and cost reduction
- Provide day-to-day manufacturing support and troubleshoot production challenges on complex electronic assemblies
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) activities
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and production procedures
- Analyze manufacturing data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to optimize manufacturing performance
- Participate in nonconformance reviews and corrective action processes
- Evaluate manufacturing methods, tooling, equipment, and process capabilities
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical resource across the organization
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Must be a US citizen
- Experience supporting complex electronics, electromechanical, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Strong background in root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and Lean manufacturing principles
