Overview As Logistics/Carrier Operations Director, you will own and influence Centric Brands' international transportation network, leading global ocean/air/parcel operations for fashion. You'll shape strategic carrier relationships, drive efficient global shipments, and develop a high-performing team across regions. Responsibilities- Develop and execute short- and long-term logistics, carrier, and operation strategies to enable growth with cost-efficiency and improved service
- Collaborate with internal divisions to align logistics with sourcing, customers, and shipment planning
- Negotiate ocean/air/parcel contracts, rates, and capacity leveraging carrier relationships to support seasonal needs
- Support Asia Operations/Allocation/Booking teams with carrier oversight and improvements
- Direct relationship with 3rd party freight auditors to ensure timely, accurate payments at competitive rates
- Propose and implement transportation allocation, capacity, and transit strategies with contingency plans
- Enhance shipping visibility tools, reports, dashboards, and milestone tracking to improve network management
- Lead and develop logistics staff, fostering growth and capability within Centric Brands Logistics
- Oversee origin/transshipment movements with timely, accurate data for shipments and financial accruals
- Standardize processes, SOPs, and playbooks to implement best practices across the department
- Lead weekly carrier calls to review performance and forecasted items
- Participate in off-hour calls with origin, forwarder, and vendor teams as needed
- Manage ad hoc analyses and other items requested by leadership
Key requirements- 12+ years in international transportation in fast-paced settings
- 7+ years in a leadership role for importer or 3PL (apparel experience a plus)
- BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent
- Strong analytical ability and data-driven decision-making with clear communication
- Proven experience negotiating costs, KPIs, audits, and supplier performance
- People-centric leadership with ability to drive continuous improvement
- Cross-functional collaboration across multi-divisional operations
- Process mapping and redesign experience; lean or six sigma valued
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word; data visualization (Power BI or similar)
- Knowledge of SAP; willingness to travel up to 10%
