Senior Roadway Design Engineer

In this role you will lead roadway design projects for Arcadis' Tennessee Mobility team, shaping highway and interchange solutions for state and municipal clients. You'll mentor junior staff, manage project plans, and ensure quality and safety compliance while interacting with clients. This role combines technical leadership with multi-disciplinary collaboration to deliver sustainable infrastructure. You join a client-facing, impact-driven team working on complex highway challenges across Tennessee.

• Lead roadway design projects of varying size and scope
• Mentor and direct junior staff and drafters; develop project plans and schedules
• Manage production and ensure compliance with Arcadis practices (quality and safety)
• Interact with client technical staff; present results and manage expectations
• Serve in multi-disciplinary project roles (QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, design leader, client-facing project manager)
• Prepare written reports, calculations, and design documentation

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Tennessee PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Task management experience in infrastructure design and construction engineering
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak, InRoads and 3D Design
• Proficiency with TDOT design standards and policies
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible with initiative to tackle new projects
