Overview As Quality Engineer, you will drive plant-wide quality improvement and own the PPAP process and related functions. You will collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure products meet requirements and support continuous quality initiatives. You will monitor quality systems through audits, corrective actions, and data-driven process improvements. You will back prototype work, calibration maintenance, and rigorous documentation to sustain ISO/IATF and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities- Handle customer issues and review testing requirements to ensure systems meet them
- Oversee APQP and PPAP processes with suppliers
- Ensure production outputs meet quality specifications
- Support calibration system upkeep and timely calibration of gages and equipment
- Provide on-site support to customers and suppliers as needed
- Support prototype builds and document according to prototype checklist inspection process
- Collect SPC data, report monthly, and drive process improvements with manufacturing
- Develop job instructions and procedures for manufacturing
- Maintain compliance with company guidelines, union contracts, ISO/IATF etc., and applicable regulations
- Define and monitor customer indicators and report to management
- Make disposition decisions for non-conforming material with proper containment and follow-up
- Suggest improvements in tracking and reporting procedures
- Perform additional assignments per manager's direction
Key requirements- Preferred Certified Quality Engineer Certificate
- 3-5 years' related experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of Six Sigma
- Knowledge of production processes, machines, tools, including design and uses
- Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency with databases and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office and statistics software
- Ability to work independently and prioritize
