Overview In this role you lead and participate as a senior technical contributor within the IT Group, guiding architecture, design, and delivery while hands-on coding a substantial portion of time. You mentor a development team to deliver high-quality software aligned with the firm's infrastructure-focused missions. You collaborate with a Business Analyst to translate requirements into actionable technical plans and ensure quality, estimation, and delivery discipline. You will help shape engineering practices and technology strategy in a fast-paced, high-output environment.

Responsibilities- Lead and manage the development team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence
- Guide architecture, solution design, coding standards, and delivery discipline
- Perform hands-on design, coding, reviews, troubleshooting, and implementation on high-priority solutions
- Set goals, provide feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations
- Ensure delivery commitments, quality, estimation accuracy, and task/status tracking in ClickUp
- Partner with Business Analyst to clarify requirements, define scope, and prioritize initiatives
- Guide estimation, work decomposition, and resourcing with the team
- Monitor timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Establish engineering practices: peer reviews, design reviews, source control, documentation, testing, and release readiness
- Mentor developers in solution design, problem solving, and professional growth
- Define UAT criteria with the Business Analyst and support ready-to-test solutions
- Advocate for documentation standards and maintain technical docs throughout the project lifecycle
- Foster continuous learning and development and contribute to the firm's technology strategy
- Clarify role boundaries so developers own execution while analysts focus on requirements and coordination
Key requirements- 15+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years in people management and hands-on leadership
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team accountability skills
- Expert proficiency in Python, C#, Java, and/or C++
- Experience with cloud, distributed systems, and microservices
- Advanced SQL and MSSQL experience
- Git and GitHub for version control
- Agile methodologies (Scrum, TDD; familiarity with BDD)
- Technical estimation, work breakdown, and risk identification
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with architecture principles, design patterns, and performance optimization
- Ability to collaborate across developers, business stakeholders, and analysts
