Overview In this role you will lead Itron's global test engineering function, shaping the strategy and deployment of scalable test solutions for NPI and sustaining programs. You enable high-quality, cost-effective test systems that improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency across global operations. You collaborate with product engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain to drive data-driven decisions and continuous improvement. Responsibilities- Define and execute a global test engineering strategy aligned with product development and manufacturing roadmaps
- Lead and develop a high-performing, multi-site team of test, automation, and manufacturing engineers
- Ensure test readiness across NPI phases (prototype, beta, pilot, production ramp)
- Partner with Product Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to deliver scalable test solutions
- Drive Design for Test (DFT), manufacturability assessments, risk mitigation, and product validation
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for test-related issues
- Establish and maintain global standards for test platforms, fixtures, automation, and processes
- Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, yield, cycle time, and capital efficiency
- Enable test data collection, traceability, analytics, and reporting linked to factory systems
- Evaluate new technologies to enhance manufacturing competitiveness
- Manage budgets, CAPEX, equipment strategy, and supplier relationships for test systems
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders to align test priorities with business goals
- Support global operations with focus on safety, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction
- Champion a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 10+ years in electronics manufacturing test engineering
- 7+ years leading global or multi-site engineering teams
- Proven experience developing and implementing global test strategies and roadmaps
- Expertise in ICT, Functional, System-Level, and Reliability Test methodologies
- Strong knowledge of Automated Test Equipment (ATE), fixture design, hardware/software integration, and test architectures
- Experience programming automated test solutions (Python, LabVIEW, C# or similar)
- Strong hardware validation, RF testing, data acquisition, and test system performance optimization
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing and working with EMS partners
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive measurable business outcomes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
