Overview As Director of Product, App Platform, you define and lead Rippling's developer platform strategy. You translate core primitives into a scalable ecosystem for first- and third-party apps, APIs, and AI-enabled workflows. You'll build a high-performance team, shape data and platform foundations, and enable developers to create reliable, safe integrations. Responsibilities- Define the App Platform strategy and roadmap, aligning primitives into a scalable developer platform
- Build APIs, schemas, permissions, tooling, docs, observability, and lifecycle experiences for developers
- Lead the Object Graph and Object Platform roadmap, shaping shared data foundations
- Enable AI-native app creation with machine-readable interfaces and safe, deterministic behavior
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of product leaders and professionals
- Drive ecosystem impact to scale third-party apps and developer sales on Rippling
Key requirements- 12+ years of product management, engineering, platform, or technical product leadership experience
- Proven track record delivering developer-focused products (APIs, infrastructure, app platforms, marketplaces)
- Strong fluency in data models, APIs, permissions, system boundaries, reliability, tooling, and developer workflows
- Excellent product judgment and ability to turn fragmented platform capabilities into a clear strategy
- Experience leading product teams and collaborating with executive, engineering, design, GTM, and customer-facing stakeholders
- Comfort operating in ambiguous or new product areas
- Nice to have: experience with developer ecosystems, app marketplaces, AI-native workflows, coding agents, object graphs, data clouds, or enterprise platforms
