Responsibilities- Oversee technical excellence across projects and coordinate disciplines
- Provide design leadership and mentor junior engineers on roadway projects
- Prepare comprehensive design and construction documents (geometrics, superelevation, plans, profiles, cross-sections, waivers, cost estimates, QA/QC)
- Collaborate with project team and technical staff to ensure cohesive delivery
- Assist project manager in meeting milestones and client criteria
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients and project managers
- Identify and manage project resources and coordinate with support departments or offices
- Support business development and pursuit processes, including responses to proposals/qualifications
Key requirements- 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 8+ years of roadway/highway design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
- Proficiency with MicroStation v8i and Geopak; Civil3D and ORD (Open Roads Designer) preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with industry practices and regulations; experience with NCDOT/SCDOT
- Location flexibility for Raleigh, NC or Columbia, SC (hybrid)
