Overview In this role you will help ensure reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System by reviewing and evolving processes and tools for day-ahead reliability analysis. You will collaborate across MISO, member utilities, and external resources to shape operating plans and implement improvements. You'll analyze the power system to influence the day-ahead operating plan and design future processes for compatibility with MISO and customers. This is a hands-on, impact-driven engineering position with opportunities to drive cross-functional initiatives and software-driven changes.

Responsibilities- Collaborate to review and develop processes or systems to support effective management of the electric grid
- Analyze power system and adjust operating plans to ensure a successful operating day
- Design future processes to ensure compatibility within MISO and external customers
- Work with multiple internal departments, member utilities, and external resources to prepare the system for expected operating conditions
- Demonstrate proficiency in group tools and processes and enable inter-department handoffs without assistance
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in electrical/related engineering field
- Five+ years of experience in the energy industry
- Two years utilizing power flow tools (EMS security applications, TARA, PSS/E, POM, DSATools)
- Steady State Power Flow Analysis experience
- Stability Study experience
- Able and willing to be available after hours or weekends to support shift needs
