Overview In this Senior Director role, you guide tax reporting and transaction-related tax accounting for private equity, lenders, and corporate clients during deals and transformations. You will coordinate post-close tax readiness, carve-outs, and IPO preparation, shaping tax governance and processes across engagements. You'll lead initiatives, manage workstreams, and collaborate with senior leaders to deliver practical, risk-aware recommendations. Responsibilities- Advise on tax reporting and transaction-related tax accounting for acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, restructurings, IPO readiness, and other corporate actions
- Support post-close integration of tax reporting processes, balances, attributes, and related workstreams
- Assist with carve-out tax reporting, separation issues and opening balance sheet considerations
- Support audit readiness and interaction with auditors on tax accounting issues and documentation
- Assist with sell-side and IPO readiness by addressing tax reporting, governance and documentation gaps
- Evaluate and improve tax reporting processes, close calendars, controls, and governance frameworks
- Provide tax data needs assessments, reporting packs, account mapping and tax-sensitive close process design
- Assess and support redesign of tax function roles, governance, and interaction models within finance
- Support tax function assessments and advisory work on operating model, governance, readiness and process design
- Review tax aspects of financial models, purchase agreements, and transaction structures
- Draft client-ready reports and presentations summarizing tax issues and recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tax considerations into broader advisory engagements
- Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members
- Lead business development and client relationship efforts

Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in accounting (Master's in Taxation or LLM preferred)
- CPA license required
- 10+ years of tax experience including tax reporting and transaction-related matters
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740, tax reporting implications of transactions, reserves and tax balance sheet matters
- Experience supporting audits and managing auditor requests
- Public accounting tax experience preferred; in-house tax experience preferred
- Experience with post-close integration, carve-outs, sell-side IPO readiness, and tax operating model design preferred
- Experience supporting sponsor-backed or PE-backed companies preferred
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex information
