Water Resources Design Project Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support water-related design projects from client communication to deliverables, helping manage scope, schedule, and budget. You will lead technical tasks, mentor teammates, and ensure quality through QA/QC processes. You'll analyze field and water-quality data to present actionable insights to clients and help the team meet deadlines. This position sits within Woolpert's Water Team and supports a broad range of water, drainage, and site civil design objectives. Responsibilities
  • Support phases of water/wastewater/stormwater/drainage design projects from client communication to deliverables
  • Lead technical staff to produce deliverables aligned with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Manage project phases ensuring quality requirements are met
  • Perform field work as needed
  • Analyze and interpret field, health & safety, and water quality data for client presentation
  • Adhere to QA/QC measures and escalate issues impacting schedule, budget, or quality
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree (BS) in Civil or related engineering program
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Optional proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software
  • Willingness to perform technical tasks and mentor team members
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills for multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to interface effectively with clients, team members, and firm resources
  • Ability to make sound data-driven decisions
  • Physically and mentally capable of performing essential duties
