Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at WSP in Orlando, you will lead mechanical design on complex healthcare, life sciences, labs, and high-rise projects from design through close-out. You'll work with cross-functional teams on national and international assignments, shaping medical facilities and other high-profile builds. You will engage with clients, manage technical delivery, and ensure project profitability and quality. Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage mechanical design across multiple projects
  • Interface with clients, attend meetings, represent the team
  • Contribute to the full project lifecycle from design to close-out
  • Provide technical expertise in air distribution, hydronic systems, and controls design
  • Perform construction administration, project management, and QA of designs
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications
  • Develop project budgets and track schedule adherence
  • Plan for additional work and scope changes
  • Ensure profitability and oversee major equipment selections
  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams and comply with regulatory requirements
  • Uphold safety, ethics, and company policies
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in mechanical design
  • Engineer in Training Certification
  • Experience guiding projects from design through construction close-out
  • HVAC system design experience for commercial environments
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to manage flexible work timetables and travel as needed
