Overview

In this Manufacturing Engineer role at Dana, you design, implement, and optimize automotive manufacturing processes to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You drive continuous improvement with cross-functional partners and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. You lead cost-saving and waste-reducing initiatives using lean and Six Sigma methodologies while supporting new product introductions and capital projects. You'll shape tooling, process validation, and documentation to sustain operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize production workflows, layouts, and equipment usage to boost efficiency and minimize waste
  • Provide technical shop-floor support for process issues, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns
  • Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to drive improvements and cost savings
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production to integrate new products, including tooling, process validation, and required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across processes
  • Maintain accurate work instructions, process flows, and engineering change notices
  • Develop or modify manufacturing methods to meet quality, production, health, safety, environmental, and cost targets
  • Coordinate capital projects from vendor sourcing to trial runs, troubleshooting, and sign-offs
  • Assess facilities structure and pursue energy reduction opportunities
  • Maintain plant layout and improve process flow for materials and products
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in field or 4+ years of applicable experience
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Machining or grinding experience
  • Equipment repair, rebuild, and/or purchasing experience
  • Experience in writing and editing work instructions
  • Strong communication with cross-functional teams
  • Analytical mindset with root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Process engineering and automotive manufacturing systems
  • Industrial automation
