Overview In this role you will steer supplier industrialization for precision-machined and turbomachinery components, turning design intent into robust manufacturing and inspection processes. You'll collaborate across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing to enable production readiness from design reviews through field support. The position is hands-on, engaging with machining, inspection data, and supplier facilities to ensure reliable, high-performance hardware. You'll help shape supplier capabilities and reliability growth for critical defense systems.

Responsibilities- Lead supplier industrialization from design release to production readiness
- Support commodity design reviews by identifying machining risks and inspection requirements
- Develop commodity FMEAs, supplier qualification requirements, control plans, and acceptance methods
- Assess supplier capability across machining, heat treatment, surface finishing, balancing, inspection, and special processes
- Establish process capability targets, first article requirements, inspection plans, and evidence for production readiness
- Monitor supplier performance using quality, delivery, yield, nonconformance, and process-capability data
- Lead root-cause and corrective-action investigations for recurring supplier nonconformances and hardware failures
- Support obsolescence, redesign, and supplier-transition activities while preserving configuration integrity
- Feed supplier lessons learned into design standards, manufacturing methods, sourcing decisions, and reliability-growth activities
- Up to 100% travel
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Ten or more years of experience in mechanical design, supplier industrialization, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, and/or precision machining
- Experience with precision machining processes, engineering drawings, GD&T, inspection methods, and process-capability analysis
- Ability to evaluate supplier processes, identify technical risks, and define practical controls for complex hardware
- Ability to communicate clearly with suppliers and cross-functional teams while managing multiple industrialization activities
