Overview

Senior Electrical Field Engineer at Axia Electric (Shimmick) leads electrical and process control work on critical infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on-time, within-budget electrical scopes for water, transit, and energy facilities. You'll tackle field inspections, construction administration, and budget alignment, shaping complex solutions for public-sector clients. This role offers hands-on project impact, from sites in Northern California, to help drive reliable, high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform standard-engineering tasks and develop details of work
  • Assist with field inspections and construction administration
  • Coordinate project documentation and centralized files (digital)
  • Support with budgets, reporting, and project meetings
  • Prepare reports and assist with community outreach when needed
  • Participate in planning and scheduling with project managers
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines under supervision
  • Research project information for reporting and funding requests
  • Attend neighborhood and project meetings
  • Assist with scope for design and deviations from plans
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
  • Rail, Transit, and/or Water/Wastewater project experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work under pressure
  • Independent work style with strong time management
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
