Overview

In this role you will provide technical electrical support across Messer's ASU, CO2, H2, and He plants, focusing on reliability and maintenance of electrical infrastructure. You will work with the Area Maintenance and Reliability Hub Team to guide electrical engineering decisions, improvements, and compliance, impacting plant uptime and safety. You'll address high/low voltage systems, switchgear, drives, and control systems, and help scale maintenance and commissioning for capital projects. This is a hands-on role in a global, safety driven environment with a clear path to technical leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical, troubleshooting and maintenance support for electrical equipment across the fleet (138kV substations, switchgear, motors up to 35,000 HP, drives, UPS, DCS/PLC)
  • Develop detailed electrical major maintenance scope, budget, and contractor selection
  • Evaluate and implement condition-based monitoring tools and translate data into actions
  • Review changes via Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) and assist in generating engineering documentation
  • Create/approve electrical PMs, work instructions, and procedures; ensure quality of PM execution
  • Support field operations for major maintenance, upgrades, commissioning, and plant startups
  • Provide scope, estimates, and technical documents for large capital and re-life projects
  • Supervise electrical contractors to ensure proper scope and quality
  • Apply and train NFPA 70E for plant personnel and review contractor safety practices
  • Deliver electrical training at site locations
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience in operations support, reliability, or engineering of industrial process plants
  • Experience with high/low voltage systems and protective relays
  • Travel ability 30-40% (60-80 nights/year)
