Overview In this role you lead configuration management and data governance for Space Surveillance programs, ensuring baseline integrity and disciplined change control. You will drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management to enable compliant, timely decision-making. You'll shape governance for configuration control boards, manage lifecycle processes, and mentor a specialty engineering team. This is a mission-driven leadership position at the intersection of engineering and program execution.
Responsibilities- Lead the specialty engineering organization for Space Surveillance programs, including oversight and performance management
- Establish change management processes covering requirements baseline control, BOM alignment, document release, and change implementation
- Provide strategic leadership for configuration control boards and governance activities to ensure timely decisions
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, contracts, and program management to define and communicate baselines
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, contractual requirements, customer expectations, and relevant standards on CM and data management
- Oversee development, release, control, and audit readiness of technical data packages, engineering docs, and product structure information
- Lead development/maintenance of approved parts lists, derating guidance, and component engineering procedures
- Support failure investigations and corrective action regarding component performance and compliance
- Drive CM process improvements to enhance efficiency, standardization, and cycle time reduction
- Support program captures, startup activities, and execution planning by defining CM resource needs and deliverables
- Develop and communicate metrics on change processing, baseline integrity, and document quality
- Travel up to 10% to support objectives and engagements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a United States security clearance
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience, or graduate degree with 10+ years, or without a degree 16+ years of related experience
