Overview In this role, you support the Integrative Genomics Core to enable cutting-edge genomics research. You will perform extractions, QC, and library preparation across multiple NGS platforms, contributing to high-throughput workflows and data integrity. You work closely with core scientists in a service-oriented environment to advance cancer and translational studies. You will help develop and validate new workflows, driving quality and reproducibility in genomic analyses. This position offers hands-on impact in a collaborative research setting.
Responsibilities- DNA and RNA extraction, quantification, and quality control
- Library preparation for Illumina, PacBio, and 10x Genomics platforms
- Execute high-throughput workflows with consistent quality
- Track samples and metadata using FileMaker LIMS
- Maintain accurate lab records per core facility standards
- Assist in method development, optimization, and validation of new workflows
- Communicate sample requirements, project status, and results to core scientists
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, genetics, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- 2+ years of related molecular biology/genomics experience with Bachelor's or 1+ year with Master's
- Experience with standard molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid handling)
- 2+ years of direct experience with NGS library preparation (preferred)
- Familiarity with Illumina sequencing platforms
- Experience with PacBio long-read sequencing and/or 10x Genomics workflows
