Senior SBA Analyst

Overview

In this role, you provide due diligence and analytical support for SBA 7(a) loan potential and ongoing credit decisions. You will gather and analyze financial data, prepare narratives, and support loan officers, relationship managers, and program managers. You mentor junior analysts and help expand business by fostering client relationships. You'll operate within the bank's SBA credit culture and keep a strong focus on service and integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Support pre-qualification SBA eligibility analysis and risk assessment for financing requests
  • Collect data from clients and sources, prepare financial analyses and cash flow reviews
  • Create credit narratives highlighting SBA approval factors and eligibility
  • Mentor and coach junior Analysts on SBA programs
  • Compile data from credit bureaus, conduct peer comparisons, verify SBA eligibility, and perform cash flow analyses
  • Assist in review, initial approval, and renewal of credit facilities
  • Develop knowledge of industries and economic conditions affecting risk
  • Represent the bank in community and SBA-focused engagement to grow relationships
  • Promote superior client service and maintain trust and integrity in interactions
  • Adhere to all bank policies, SBA regulations, and applicable laws; ensure compliance and confidentiality
  • Complete tasks accurately and timely; support organizational goals and values
  • Handle records and compliance with BSA/Patriot Act/OFAC requirements
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Commercial financial analysis or lending background
  • Experience in financial statement and tax return analysis
  • 5+ years in financial and/or credit analysis with SBA 7(a) focus (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of commercial, construction, and real estate credit analysis
  • Ability to interpret business literature and present information to diverse groups
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong typing, math, and communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively
