Overview In this role you will steer Cape's accounting program as we scale. You'll design and enforce GAAP-compliant processes, lead the first PCAOB audit, and own key financial operations while building a capable accounting team. You will partner across internal functions to implement systems and drive close accuracy in a fast-moving, high-growth environment. Responsibilities- Design and implement accounting best practices for high velocity and GAAP compliance
- Lead ERP design and quote-to-cash processes in partnership with stakeholders
- Prepare Cape for its first PCAOB audit and oversee audit readiness
- Own accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax, and state compliance with audit-ready books
- Hire and develop an accounting team aligned to growth milestones
- Manage large, recurring close processes and cross-functional financial reporting
Key requirements- CPA certification
- ASC 606 revenue recognition knowledge
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 2 years Big 4 experience
- Operational accounting experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup
- Proficiency in journal entries in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and implementing department-wide practices
- Led an end-to-end audit
- Able to thrive in dynamic environments and drive process improvements
- Strong collaboration with business partners, customers, and vendors
- Meticulous project management for end-to-end processes
