Overview In this role you will lead propulsion engineering for the Archimedes engine family within the Neutron program, owning subsystems from design through testing and flight readiness. You will work across engineering disciplines to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability, and mentor engineers while aligning teams to program goals. The position offers high autonomy and impact on reusable propulsion development in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment. You'll contribute to a program that aims to deliver cost-effective, reliable launch solutions and enable constellation-scale missions.

Responsibilities- Design, analyze, test, fly, and refly propulsion hardware to ensure readiness and flight success
- Develop and execute qualification and acceptance test plans; conduct post-test reviews
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to optimize engine performance and manufacturability
- Generate high-level plans and prioritize tasks across teams to align with program goals
- Mentor engineers and foster technical collaboration
- Work with manufacturing, testing, and vehicle operation teams to support engine lifecycle and resolve issues
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of rocket engine development, testing, or operations (Senior Propulsion Engineer I)
- 8+ years of rocket engine development, testing, or operations (Senior Propulsion Engineer II)
- 12+ years of rocket engine development, testing, or operations (Principal Propulsion Engineer)
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, cryogenic systems, and rocket engine architecture
- Familiarity with engine P&IDs, fluid system routing, and hotfire data reviews
