Overview As a Salesforce Life Sciences Functional Architect, you own end-to-end functional design for a workstream within a Salesforce Life Sciences program. You guide workshops with business and product owners, translate business needs into user stories and designs, and partner with technical leads to ensure delivery. You mentor a team of analysts and configurators, contribute to governance, and support testing, data migration, and deployment. This role combines domain Life Sciences expertise with architecture leadership to drive scalable solutions.

Responsibilities- Own the functional solution design for a workstream within the Salesforce Life Sciences program, aligned with senior architecture direction
- Lead design workshops with client stakeholders and translate outcomes into stories, specs, and technical designs
- Configure and demonstrate Life Sciences capabilities, build prototypes, and validate decisions with stakeholders
- Make day-to-day domain design decisions, document trade-offs, and escalate cross-workstream issues to the lead architect
- Collaborate with technical leads and developers to ensure buildability, and support estimation, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and defect triage
- Guide and review work of functional analysts, configurators, and offshore team members, providing coaching and quality oversight
- Contribute to architecture governance and design reviews by preparing materials and applying standards
- Support testing, data migration, training, deployment, and user adoption post go-live
- Contribute to proposals, demonstrations, and estimates; help build reusable assets and accelerators
- Identify and raise design, scope, and delivery risks and work on mitigation with leadership
Key requirements- Minimum 3 years of Salesforce experience in functional design, business analysis, or solution consulting
- Minimum 3 years delivering Salesforce solutions for Life Sciences or another regulated industry
- Minimum 1 year of Salesforce Life Sciences Patient services experience
- Minimum 1 year of Salesforce Life Sciences experience
- Working functional and configuration knowledge across the Salesforce Life Sciences landscape
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 12 years); Associate's degree with at least 6 years of experience
