Overview In this role you will design streets, highways, interchanges, and other Massachusetts infrastructure while developing studies, designs, estimates, and construction documents. You will work with CAD designers and engineers in a collaborative team, applying MassDOT standards to deliver impactful projects from field investigations to final plans. This position sits in our Boston office as part of the Critical Infrastructure team, offering opportunities to influence mobility, resilience, and sustainability. You will tackle multi-disciplinary design challenges that shape communities and support economic growth.

Responsibilities- Conduct field investigations and roadway/highway design, including grading, drainage, utilities, green infrastructure, work zone traffic control, and site layout
- Develop civil/highway design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents
- Support multi-disciplinary design development teams in project execution
- Provide support for other engineering activities as required
- Take on additional responsibilities as appropriate
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Experience with MassDOT civil/highway projects
- Familiarity with MassDOT standards and specifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation; working knowledge of other engineering PCs software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) and Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificates are preferred
