Responsibilities- Review and sign off on complex tax returns across corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and high-net-worth engagements
- Own relationships for a portfolio of middle-market clients, delivering proactive tax planning and advisory services
- Address IRS/state notices and represent clients with technical rigor
- Conduct technical tax research and author memos to guide decisions
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate tax seniors and staff accountants with real-time feedback
- Collaborate with shareholders and senior leadership on practice development, client proposals, and strategic engagements
- Oversee engagement economics, workflow, budgets, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery
Key requirements- 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
- Active CPA license
- Strong technical background reviewing returns (1065, 1120, 1120S, 1040)
- Proven track record managing client relationships independently with advisory guidance
- Proficiency with modern tax prep, research, and workflow platforms (e.g., UltraTax CS, CCH Axcess, GoSystem)
