Overview In this role you help operate and improve a financial management and budgeting application within a federal analytics setting. You bridge finance stakeholders, system users, and technical teams to turn processes into actionable guidance and maintain solid documentation. You oversee day-to-day system activities and translate data into insights for decision-making. You will collaborate with an analytical team to advance processes, adoption, and reporting, delivering measurable impact.
Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day activities of the financial management and budgeting application, including workflow monitoring and user support
- Develop strong command of the application, data, rules, roles, interfaces, and dependencies; identify risks and suggest improvements
- Track actions, defects, enhancements, and decisions through resolution with clients and technical stakeholders
- Support data-quality reviews, reconciliations, and validation for financial reporting and decision-making
- Produce, maintain, and revise SOPs, process maps, guides, and other documentation
- Translate complex system functions into clear instructions for end users with varying technical knowledge
- Assess current-state processes, identify gaps, and recommend standardized future-state procedures and controls
- Support user training, demonstrations, onboarding, and change communications
- Maintain version control and ensure documentation reflects approved processes and system changes
- Extract, validate, and analyze financial/operational data; develop recurring/on-demand reports and dashboards
- Explain analytical methods and conclusions concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate to define data requirements, improve analytical products, and respond to client priorities
- Engage stakeholders to clarify needs, gather requirements, and drive timely completion of actions
- Provide status updates, surface risks early, and maintain momentum across priorities
- Contribute to a collaborative, service-oriented team while working with limited supervision
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, public administration, information systems, data analytics, or related field
- 7+ years of relevant federal experience in financial management, systems, or analytics
- Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, process documentation, or user guidance
- Experience supporting operations, implementation, enhancement, or user adoption of financial/ budgeting apps
- Strong data analysis skills with ability to validate and present complex datasets
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with PowerPoint and Word for reports and presentations
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and delivery capabilities
- Excellent written communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills
