Overview In this role you help design and coordinate structural systems within HDR's Building Engineering Services Group. You will review documents, develop specifications, and lead design development and contract phases across disciplines. You'll engage with agencies for code compliance and manage workload to meet project timelines. Responsibilities- Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines
- Write/edit structural specifications and perform necessary calculations
- Independently coordinate the structural design team through design development and contract document phases
- Lead meetings with governing agencies for code compliance
- Conduct design development and construction document work sessions on site with the Project Manager and other disciplines
- Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to meet schedules
- Coordinate and assist with other disciplines and process change requests (RFIs, change orders) and incorporate changes into documents
- Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional engineering license recognized by the local licensing board (PE or P.Eng)
- Previous structural engineering experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and structural software tools (example: RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE)
- Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
