Overview In this role you will strengthen cost accounting and financial reporting for a manufacturing business, delivering analysis that informs performance and improvements. You will work within the finance team to ensure SOX compliance, accurate GL and cost components, and insightful variance analyses. You will collaborate cross-functionally to support planning, annual targets, and strategic initiatives. This position offers leadership opportunities and a chance to contribute to robust internal controls and process improvements.
Responsibilities- Validate monthly Gross Profit and GL inputs, including cost components (DL, materials, burden, scrap)
- Analyze monthly spending trends and support the Annual Operating Plan for the Performance Center
- Prepare financial statements, KPI updates, and journal entries; reconcile various GL accounts
- Maintain SOX controls and intercompany reconciliations; coordinate cycle counts and inventories
- Prepare royalty reports and support shipping/FOB cutoff for revenue recognition
- Perform AR/AP tasks as needed; manage fixed assets, COGS, and inventory reserves
- Support tax compliance, audits, and ad hoc analyses; ensure data integrity in reporting systems
- Protect and manage CUI/ITAR/EAR data; ensure security and compliance
- Travel as needed and participate in process development with other departments
- Maintain documentation for audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Key requirements- GAAP knowledge; strong accounting fundamentals
- Familiarity with foreign currency, international tax, and intercompany offsets
- Manufacturing accounting terminology proficiency
- Strong verbal and written communication; leadership and mentoring abilities
- Excel expertise (advanced); SQL experience a plus; ERP/MRP understanding
