Overview

As Complex HR Manager II, you partner with operations to lead Employee and Labor Relations at the Chicken Manufacturing Plant, ensuring a safe, engaged workplace and effective management training. You direct HR services across recruitment, performance management, development, compliance, and safety, aligning people programs with the plant's short- and long-term goals. You will coach leaders, resolve employee relations issues, and implement HR policies with a focus on continuous improvement. This role offers impact through shaping our manufacturing culture and people practices.

Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite HR leadership and serve as the main contact for recruitment, benefits, payroll, and employee relations at the facility
  • Lead and participate in HR initiatives such as staffing, performance management, organizational planning, compensation planning, and employee development
  • Coach business leaders on managing teams effectively and addressing business priorities
  • Resolve employee relations issues and guide managers through disciplinary and corrective processes
  • Advise employees on work-related issues and promote proactive, positive resolution
  • Interpret and implement HR policies on vacation, parental leave, etc.
  • Oversee staffing processes with hiring managers and talent acquisition to ensure diverse slates and quality candidates
  • Collaborate with legal and labor relations to manage performance initiatives
Key requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of HR management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience in a union environment with collective bargaining
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification or equivalent (a strong plus)
  • Proven track record in employee communications and engagement programs
  • Experience leading manufacturing facility recruiting for hourly and management roles
  • Strong interviewing skills (structured, competency-based, behavioral) and various selection methods
  • Familiarity with HR databases, ATS/CMS and HRIS (UKG)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Strategic thinker with drive for continuous improvement
