Intelligence Analyst II, Buyer Threat Intelligence Unit

Overview

In this role you will build and lead a new intelligence function to identify and disrupt buyer-related threats to Amazon. You will collect and analyze intelligence from dark web, encrypted channels, and fraud platforms, shaping detection rules and ML features. You will establish tradecraft standards, mentor the team, and coordinate with Legal and Law Enforcement to operationalize findings. You'll work across ML, Risk Mining, Engineering, and Legal to deliver timely alerts and actionable intelligence that reduces risk for buyers and the business. This is a ground-floor opportunity with leadership visibility and impact on threat prevention at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Dark Web & Deep Web intelligence collection and analysis for Amazon-specific threats
  • Threat actor profiling and tracking of fraud rings and fraud-as-a-service providers
  • Produce monthly comprehensive MOI investigations for Legal with attribution, IOCs, and impact
  • Lead tradecraft, investigation methodology, and OSINT workflows for the team
  • Mentor analysts and build independent investigation capabilities across the group
  • Collaborate with ML, Risk Mining, Engineering, Legal, and Law Enforcement to operationalize findings
  • Establish referral pathways with law enforcement and external enforcement agencies
  • Issue real-time alerts for active exploitation campaigns targeting Amazon buyers
  • Drive adoption and optimization of intelligence platforms (Flashpoint, Maltego) and develop collection/enrichment pipelines
Key requirements
  • Experience handling confidential information
  • Proven ability to partner with internal and external teams on tactical initiatives
  • Proficiency with OSINT methodologies and investigative research techniques
  • Knowledge of fraud ecosystems (carding, ATO, synthetic identity, refund abuse, phishing, fraud-as-a-service)
  • Familiarity with payment systems, e-commerce fraud vectors, or chargeback patterns
  • Discretion and sound judgment with sensitive information
  • 5+ years in cyber threat intelligence, fraud investigations, risk analysis, or cybercrime research
