Overview As Principal Metallurgist - Technology, you will lead specialized technical services to advance alloy development and process solutions. You'll oversee non-conforming material disposition, mentor staff, and guide cross-functional projects while applying advanced statistical methods to drive value and risk management. Your role blends hands-on metallurgical expertise with strategic project leadership in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities- Provide diversified technical services to internal and external customers to support company goals
- Dispositon of referred, non-conforming and off-standard material, including RMRs and customer claims
- Provide training and education to key customers
- Lead less-experienced staff and guide peers, customers and manager in projects
- Lead the use of statistical methods and experimental design
- Manage functional project teams addressing complex technical problems and trends in alloy and process development, including project planning and budget compliance
- Identify and communicate technical risk to management
- Apply SPC, Six Sigma and/or BPI tools to improve project efficiency
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science or related field
